Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge! Challenge #203 Bye Bye Birdie Bye Bye Birdie Create a project with a bird on it. To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. Here is my project for the week: I took these pictures of my son, Dallas, way back in November 2013, and I'm just getting around to scraping them. This was his 6 year photo shoot, and they were taken outside his elementary school. I love the fall look of the pictures, with all the trees and the fall colors, so I wanted a scrapbook page that would reflect that as well. I used a lot of different cartridges to make this layout, but it was worth the extra effort. I used Cindy Loo for the tree, Doodlecharms for the leaves, Home Decor for the bird, Opposites Attract for the "T" in Thankful, and Cursive 101 for the rest of the word. I didn't like the T, so found one that I liked better. I used a Spectrum Noir marker to "edge" the leaves, Tim Hotz Tea Dye Distress Ink to ink the edges of the paper and the tree, colored in the bird using a red and orange Glaze pen, and then popped the bird up using some foam tape.

Hello everyone, it's challenge time over at Fantabulous Cricut. This weeks challenge is "Fall is in the air". You are challenged to create a fall themed project, using at least one Cricut cut. Ever since our vinyl university, I have been hooked on working with vinyl, and visit the dollar store on a regular basis, looking for things that I can use. I found these great candle holders for $1.00 each at the Dollar Tree, and I bought the apple scented candles there too. I used pieces of leftover vinyl from another project, so this set cost me a total of $8.00 plus tax. I am thinking of making some more to give away as Christmas gifts :) I wish I could take all the credit for these, but I got the idea, from a photographer friends site. They used tea cups with the word "LOVE" spelled out as a part of a bridal portrait session. I used the Cindy Loo, font layer to cut the letters, then it was a simple of putting them on the candle holders. A couple of them tried to bubble up at first, but I just kept pushing the air out and smoothing it, until they laid down onto the glass. I love how the red of the candles peak through the letters. They are even more beautiful when they are lit. I have included some pictures, but they don't do it justice.
I Love, Love, Love this card. There is nothing better than when you have an idea and it comes out better than you pictured it. I wanted a simple, clean card that could be used for Valentines Day, though I think this would make a great anniversary card, or thinking of you card as well. I started with a basic white card, cut the tree with out the leaves using my cricit and the cindy loo cartridge. Then I made the hearts using some scrap paper from my stash and an old creative memories punch, and used them for the leaves. I wanted to show movement, so some of the heart leaves are blowing away, and I put some on foam tape to give some depth. The stamp is from recollections and I really like how it looks hand drawn. There is no way I could actually doodle that neatly :) Materials Used: Cricut: Cindy Loo Paper: Recollections and scraps from my stash Stamp: Recollections Ink: Stampin Up - Rose Red Challenges Entered: Cut it Up - Love is in the air - any Valentines Day project Die Cuttin Divas - Anything Goes SpeedyTV Simply Salutations - Anything Goes Paper Playtime - Use some brown Go Fish Challenge Blog - I Love You Like what you see? Visit my online store on Etsy. I have been in full swing making Valentines cards, and am having so much fun in the process. I had found this stamp set by Recollections at Michaels and knew right away that I wanted to cut out two little birds and put them in a tree. Let me say once I started using my Cindy Loo cartridge, I can't seem to stop, I love it. So, I cut out the frame, tree, and love birds. I had trouble deciding what to use in the background of the frame until I stumbled across this cute sunshine paper by Colorbok in the Sweet Home paper pack. It is perfect. I used my Stampin Up Regal Rose ink to stamp "Love Birds" and finished it off with a peice of scrap ribbon I had with little hearts on it. At this point, I felt that it was pretty cute, but needed something else, so I outlined the frame using a white gel pen (also a new fav tool).
